The concert highlights the artistic work of our guest artists in residence in addition to our own faculty. 2010s EDM combines trance, home and techno and regurgitates the Frankenstein sensibility as formulaic pop dance music that’s extra mainstream. It was originally marketed within the 00s as an umbrella term, but because it became extra pop and formulaic, it is now its personal genre separate from the originals. EDM is NOT trance, house and techno, it is derivative and steals from the unique underground scenes, so it is usually generic. To not hate on those who prefer it, to each their own. Typically it is just nice to let go and wave your arms within the air it doesn’t matter what’s playing, as long as it’s anthemic.
